If you don’t know Luci in real life, you are missing out. She comes from the biggest, most loving, faithfilled family. Not by chance, she married into another family with the same desirable values. Luci and Chris are about as devoted to Christ as they come. In just 11 days they will be celebrating their angels in heaven, birthday. You can go back to read more and see their pretty little faces in my old blogpost, heaven in this room. Their journey with Hope and Grace inspired Luci and her mom to start an organization, One Heart Two Souls, to help other moms remain strong through their pregnancy when given a poor prognosis. Not everyone is able to continue a pregnancy when the outcome is a guaranteed loss. I applaud and bow down to all those amazing mothers out there. After the twins Luci’s “Taj Mahal” of a uterus, she calls it, was stressed to the point where she would have to schedule future cesareans. They welcomed Maria in August of 2010, who is a very proud big/little sister. Last week we got to meet the hefty 9.2lbs JoJo. I got to recovery just before Luci held him skin to skin for the first time. Chris said to the nurse before she could comment on me being in there, “Oh this is Melanie. She photographs our life.” HAHA. So much truth in that statement, I love it! Luci was her normal “I’m so happy I can’t stop crying” self the whole day while I was there.
Joseph had some tightness in his lungs so they had to spend more hours in recovery than usual and I wasn’t able to stay long enough to go to postpardum. Boo. I was at least able to capture the family that was there and most importantly, Maria! But I will tell ya, HE IS CUTE! I’m over the moon happy for you, friends. I love you so much and thanks again for always inviting me into the best moments of your lives! Love, Melanie.

Hi Melanie
I’ve been following your work on fb for a couple months now. I’m a fellow birth photographer from Idaho. Since this is a c-section post I just wanted to share with you my excitement from today! I had a c-section birth today and for the first time I was FINALLY allowed in the OR to capture the procedure! It’s an amazing day for both myself and of course the family!
Anyway, just wanted to share! Your work is wonderful!
beautiful family, best of everything in life
I think you are the patron saint of photographers. You’re such a gift to our family!
Hope I get to see you in July.
